# Welcome to MinimalPad — Your Compact Wireless Macropad

> MinimalPad is a 16-key wireless macropad with ZMK firmware. Configure every key in your browser without reflashing — no code required.

MinimalPad puts 16 programmable low-profile mechanical keys, a rotary encoder, and RGB underglow into a compact wireless device you can configure entirely from your browser. Whether you're a developer, designer, streamer, or keyboard enthusiast, MinimalPad helps you keep your most-used actions one press away.

## What's in the box

MinimalPad packs a lot into a small footprint:

* **16 programmable keys** — a 4×4 grid of hot-swap Kailh Choc low-profile mechanical switches, each independently assignable per layer
* **Rotary encoder** — turn clockwise or counter-clockwise for firmware-defined actions; press the encoder like a key, and configure that press in Studio
* **USB-C and Bluetooth Low Energy** — connect wired or pair wirelessly with up to five Bluetooth profiles
* **RGB underglow** — 16 WS2812 LEDs under the case, controllable through key assignments
* **ZMK firmware** — open-source, power-efficient firmware running on the nRF52840 chip
* **Hot-swap sockets** — swap Kailh Choc switches without soldering

## Configure without reflashing

MinimalPad Studio is a browser-based configurator at [studio.minimalmacropad.com](https://studio.minimalmacropad.com/). Connect your MinimalPad over USB or Bluetooth, and you can remap keys, manage layers, and control RGB — all in real time, with no firmware reflash required.
