If your MinimalPad is not responding correctly and Studio changes are not helping, a fresh firmware flash will restore it to a working state. The bootloader — the recovery mode built into the microcontroller — is always accessible via the reset button, even when the main firmware is broken or unresponsive.
When to Recover
- MinimalPad Studio can no longer find or connect to the device
- Incorrect or incompatible firmware was flashed
- The device has an unusable or corrupted configuration
- Keys are not responding as expected and reconfiguring in Studio has not resolved the issue
Recovery replaces the firmware. It does not wipe your Bluetooth pairings — those are stored separately and survive a firmware flash.
Steps
After Recovery
A fresh firmware flash resets your key assignments to the firmware defaults. Open Studio to reconfigure your keys and layers. Your changes are saved to the device’s flash memory as you assign them.
If the bootloader drive does not appear even after trying a data cable and varying the double-click speed, see Flashing Problems for further troubleshooting.
